Over at my new gig at Beyond the Boxscore I posted an article on the top 3 remaining LF free agents and their likelihood to be worth their contracts. Head on over and check it out. The cliff notes are along the lines of:
- Holliday is the best of the bunch, even if you consider the 8/128M he is still most likely of the 3 to offer surplus value over the life of the contract
- Bay is next best, but is only plausible if you assume the defensive metrics have been off on him the last few years because of the Monster
- Damon is not likely to be a good bargain.
I’ll hopefully be doing something over there once a week or so (clearly global MLB related), and continuing to put any Cardinal specific stuff here (along with Cardinal spin-off info from my generic posts over there).
