I even think they should complete the team as if they had Holliday.  Not signing him would be far less devastating than signing him and then him getting injured during ST.  They need a contingency plan for that anyway.

Assuming the Cards have an extra $15M laying around because someone else signed Holliday even as late as March, I think they could find a way to turn that cash into a decent one year LF rental and maybe even still find a way to upgrade another position even late in Spring Training.  Somebody will have a rookie pushing a veteran and be happy to unload the higher salary.  Worst case is to play Freese and Craig and bank the money for Albert&#039;s extenstion or the next opportunity.]]></description>
